PLUG POWER | 249 Stamp Dr., Alabama, NY

Alternative energy technology provider Plug Power has a state-of-the-art green hydrogen manufacturing facility at the Western New York Science, Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) in Alabama, N.Y. in Genesee County. The site will also include a 450-megawatt electricity substation to support the hydrogen projection facility and future growth projects at STAMP.

 

Shelby Crushed Stone supplied approximately 160,000 tons of various sized crushed stone for this project.

ERIE CANAL SLOPE REMEDIATION | Medina, NY 

The New York State Canal Corporation led the work on the phased embankment maintenance program for the Erie Canal in Monroe and Orleans counties that enhanced the canal’s safety and security.

Vegetation was removed in accordance with guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Administration, Army Corps of Engineers and Association of State Dam Safety Engineers. The consensus among these experts is that trees have no place on embankments, as their root systems can cause seepage and potentially lead to erosion and potential embankment failure that can cause catastrophic damage and loss of life.

 

Shelby Crushed Stone supplied approximately 150,000 tons of special dirt fill, that no other producers would make during the winter months,  for embankments on this project.

FMC MIDDLEPORT REMEDIATION | Middleport, NY

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), in consultation with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), approved FMC’s Off-Site Investigation and Remediation Work activities as part of the Middleport Environmental Remediation Program.

 

Shelby Crushed Stone has supplied specific dirt fill and crushed stone on this project for the last 17+ years.

KRULL PARK | 6108 Lake Rd, Olcott, NY

Shelby Crushed Stone worked with contractors on Krull Park, a Niagara County project that was awarded nearly $1.9 million of federal funds to restore shoreline areas that were lost in the flooding of 2017.

BEATTIE AVENUE WATERLINE PROJECT | Lockport, NY

Contractors installed a new 10-inch waterline along Beattie Ave.  On October 5, 2023, the Contractor made the final connection at Buell Drive.   Restoration of the disturbed areas along Beattie Avenue is next, including the road shoulder, driveways, and yards.

Shelby Crushed Stone supplied various crushed stone products throughout this project and Cambria Asphalt Products is supplying the hot-mix asphalt for the final phase of construction.

CLARENCE SERVICE AREA | NYS Thruway

The new Clarence Service Area is the eighth new service area to open to Thruway customers as part of the $450 million project to redevelop and modernize all 27 Thruway service areas.

The facility is more than 14,000 square feet. The location is the first to reopen that offers separate amenities for the commercial trucking industry.

MODERN LANDFILL EXPANSION  | 1445 Pletcher Rd,  Model City, NY

Shelby Crushed Stone is supplying filter stone for the 40+ acre expansion of the existing landfill site located in Model City, near Lewiston, NY.

LOCAL SOLAR PROJECTS | Niagara/Orleans County, NY

​Shelby Crushed Stone continues to supply various products to many local solar farms throughout Niagara and Orleans counties.

KJ MOTORSPORTS | Middleport, NY

KJ Motorsports and Outdoor Furnace Supply are constructing a new $12.6 million plant and distribution facility. Shelby Crushed Stone has supplied various products to this new 107,500-square-foot distribution and assembly facility located on 14 acres at 9745 Rochester Road in Middleport, NY. 

LOCAL PAVING PROJECTS | Niagara/Erie County, NY

​Cambria Asphalt Products continues to supply high quality Hot-mix asphalt to the Towns and municipalities around WNY for paving highways and local roads.  Recent projects include:
